The Spiderman PMO Superhero

Spiderman PMO Superhero | FuturePMO

In January 2020, the FuturePMO team introduced you to our PMO Superhero quiz, giving you a way to identify your PMO superpower and who your Superhero spirit is.

Every superpower brings something important to a PMO. Now that you know what yours is likely to be, we can provide some insight into how to harness that power for PMO good.

If you haven’t already completed our quiz, you can do so at the bottom – don’t worry, we wont ask for any of your details!

The Spiderman PMO Superpower

You bring a competitive edge to your PMO through your agility in times of ambiguity, boundless energy and positivity

The Spiderman PMO Superhero is famous for their seemingly boundless energy and is often known for their ability to adapt quickly when needed.

A healthy dose of competition helps all PMOs to develop their continuous improvement strategies. At this level, competition doesn’t need to be with other PMOs (although there are lots out there to benchmark your PMO against) but can be focused inwardly to how well the PMO is performing and how it can stretch the team to be and do better. The Spiderman PMO Superhero brings the spirit of competition along with a positive can-do attitude that gets things done.

The Spiderman PMO Superhero in your team is likely to have their eye on the team dynamics and is very sensitive to negative feelings between team members. Once a goal is defined however, they will work tirelessly to bring a social aspect to the work and ensure that everyone is working in the most collaborative and creative way as possible.

If you (are the, or) have a Spiderman PMO Superhero within your team, there are some important characteristics that you need to be aware of:

  • Spiderman superheroes have a highly tuned ability to adapt to situations, and can often do so as a reaction to something as opposed to a planned response, this ability can be very useful during times of ambiguity and uncertainty, but can leave them stranded on occasion when others haven’t caught up to them yet
  • Spiderman superpowers come with a strong drive to succeed; this type of person is great at getting goals over the line and can really support innovative ways of working that other team members may shy away from
  • Spiderman superheroes are incredibly social and want to feel like they are part of a team, a cause, a tribe; which means that they will work hard to ensure that the team is working well together and having fun along the way
  • Your Spiderman superhero is very intelligent although will occasionally seem to lack common sense, on these days ensure that you spend the time to discuss their development opportunities and strengths to give them something to focus on

“Ability is agility: Organisations that can fail fast and pivot to what’s next are best positioned for the future.”
